Electrical services are an ongoing requirement in homes and businesses throughout the country, creating a steady demand for skilled electrical technicians. When you graduate from Career Centers of Texas, you can have the training needed to seek entry-level electrical technician jobs in building construction and design, general building construction, commercial and residential construction, construction equipment and supplies, and related fields.
A Hands-On Curriculum
The curriculum emphasizes compliance with National Electrical Codes, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards and guidelines. Your training will focus on basic electricity, residential and commercial wiring and electrical layout, and motors and controls used in industrial facilities. Through a combination of classroom and hands-on training in labs that simulate real-world work environments, you will have an opportunity to develop the skills needed for installation of service entrances, single- and multiphase power supplies, transformer connections, service drops, switch gears, service disconnects, and wiring from both delta and wye transformers.
