Our History
Career Centers of Texas, El Paso campus was founded in October 1985 as a branch of San Antonio College of Medical and Dental Assistants. The El Paso campus was one of a group of three Texas schools located in El Paso, McAllen, and San Antonio.
- In November 1988, Career Centers of Texas, El Paso became free standing as a separate corporation named Career Centers of Texas–El Paso, Inc.
- In November 1996, the El Paso School was purchased by Educational Medical, Inc., an educational company with headquarters in Roswell, Georgia. EMI changed its name to Quest Education Corporation in September of 1998. Quest was purchased in July 2000 by Kaplan, Inc.
- In June 1999, Career Centers of Texas, El Paso moved to 8360 Burnham Road, Suite 100, El Paso, Texas , to better accommodate the growing student population.
- In November 2002, Career Centers of Texas, Brownsville was opened in Brownsville, Texas, as a branch of Career Centers of Texas, El Paso.
- In December 2002, Quest changed its name to Kaplan Higher Education Corporation.
